Perhaps you are right about folks moving out of NJ and influencing other elections, cause we have had a huge migration of NJ folks to Charlotte, and we now have our first DEM Mayor in 22 years. He is black; we have had a black mayor in the past (who was popular with folks in both parties - he was a uniter, not a divider).
However, there are many folks from NJ who declare they fled from NJ to get away from Corzine's tax-and-spend policies, and came to Charlotte.
So I do think a lot of the smart folks fled NJ, but evidently enuff of them were left to see that Corzine got booted - and maybe some of the outrageous taxes (and the program they support) will be ditched in NJ in the coming years.
And if any of the people in NJ ended up here in Charlotte and thought this was a cool move to vote in a DEM in this city, wait til the taxes they ran away from go skyward here in Charlotte. And it WILL happen - that is what the Democrats are all about in this city - funding entitlements.
It is gonna be a very interesting few years here in Charlotte, and I can guaran-damn-tee you . . . unless there is hanky panky at the ballot boxes (and the DEM party has a history of that here) . . . 2010 is gonna mean GOP candidates get elected. And if folks haven't gotten a belly full of the tax and spend on entitlement programs by 2010, then look to 2012.
BTW - I applaud NJ voters for pulling together and throwing out the corruption. I hope they will rally together here in NC and help us get the next election right in Charlotte.

This is hysterical, considering the amount of time Obama spent campaigning in New Jersey for Corzine. Has Obama become a liability after only one year????
How quick the honeymoon ended!

Oh, and the other shoe has not dropped. When we all are finally paying out the wing wang for the legislation Obama has pushed . . . folks (on both sides of the aisle) are gonna be furious.
Of course, the DEMS have this all figured out. This "crucial" healthcare legislation wont go into effect til after the elections of 2012. Now, explain to me why something so CRUCIAL has an effective date of 2013???
Yep, O has made a HUGE economic mess and we have not even seen the worst of it yet! And we have not discussed the fact that unemployment is now at 10% across the nation. Here in my city, it is even worse . . .

Thats funny because you believed that Spector moving to become a Democrat was important, but now proclaimed that these election victories mean "nothing"..
Man you guys have some really odd value system when someone changing from an R to a D is important, but those we elect dont matter..

I think poor and even some dumb people finally realized that they get taxed too and need jobs. And empty promises don't put groceries on the table. So they clapped for Obama when he stumped for Corzine but voted their pocket books.
Hopefully this does cut down on the exodus of New Jerseyans to other states.

The reason you're seeing Republican wins is the same reason you saw Democrat wins a few years ago: it's easier to drum up support for the opposition party.

Not hardly. If things are going well, it is easy to get folks out who want to vote for the status quo.
Listen to CNN this morning . . .the Obama apologists are out en force, trying to convince us that these wins are not a referendum about Obama - calling these wins just "local phenomena."
Let's hear them say that in 2010.

Amazing. I was listening to various news stations this morning and the Obamatrons are all spinning big time. Last nights election results really shook them up.

They have not thrown out anything yet.
Call me in 4 years and let me know if the corruption is gone and property taxes are lower.
I will be shocked if they either comes to fruition.
