let them have their moment... we all know that its all meaningless until 2010.. also considering sub 50% election turn outs.. means the only people who turned out are the people pissed off.
I wish the United states made it manditory to vote, so nobody winning is the result of laziness to go vote. Course that would mean democrats would win every election and the republicans know it. Thats how you can not be a majority in america and still win elections...
Countries like Australia have manditory voting.. we should too.. it should be a civil duty like jury duty.. you don't have to vote for one or the other, but you do have to cast a ballot even if you leave it blank. That would be the AMERICAN way to do things.. Democrats got big wins with young voter turn outs.. and when the young vote stays home and is lazy.. the wing nuts turn out the vote... Wingnut crazies are a lot of things.. but due to their militant nature.. they turn out to vote.
It's sad that these are the people that determine elections sometimes due to the majority's apathy...

actually congress not having a backbone is what's HURTING dems.. and hurting dems only makes for the alternative option.. republicans
Lets not kid ourselves.. nobody is running to republicans because of their great platform on issue (2000-2008 is still vivid enough), they're just picking "the other guy"
the majority spoke in 2008, and if congress doesn't stand up and get healthcare done, and all the other democrat promises, then they will lose, and rightfully so because they would prove to be no different than a republican.. and while I disagree with most republican views, the democrats deserve to be voted out if they don't start getting things done, and the nation will deserve republicans to finish the job of destroying the country economically and socially... and americans will have NObody and NO ONE party to blame but themselves... we'll deserve it.. every bit of it... Your ideologies will be the nail in the coffins of your children's futures..
"socialism" will be the least of your made up worries...
economic slavery is real... and the foundations for it have been layed under "conservative" corporate hands in previous administrations and houses of congress...if change touted by the democrats doesn't become a reality.. they will lose, and rightfully so.. and just you wait and see what becomes of it... a lot of people will be rethinking their positions...

You think so despite the fact it is looking more and more like Democrats may have gained a seat in Congress as a result of these 2009 elections?

The exact reason people voted for Obama, didn't want to vote for McCain.

Hmm, sounds a lot like the people who turned out in November to vote for Obama.

Midterm elections are sometimes regarded as a referendum on the sitting president's and/or incumbent party's performance.[1][2] They usually don't turn out well for the party of the president; over the past 17 midterm elections, the president's party has lost an average 28 seats in the House, and an average 4 seats in the Senate.
