So now you are saying that individuals choices to join the Republican party should be limited to ONLY conservatives. Its not like the Republican party gives a test to see who "qualifies" to be a member. I dont remember taking one of these when I was a Democrat but perhaps things have changed since then..
|
well if you take a look back at things reagan said you get my point. i was watching a show with a panel of political activist who were discussing politics this past sunday there were conservative republicans, al sharpton and some democrat liberals on the show its based in D.C/came on NBC or ABC and the republican guy spoke about gay marriage and the dropping out of the liberal republican and said if u have those beliefs that's what the democrat party is for so it wouldn't surprise me if over 95% of republicans think that you have to be a conservative to be taken seriously

And what "pedophiles" have been supported by the Republicans? How about the hypocritical republicans that expound family values while they are out screwing? Have you EVER seen Republicans stand up and support ANY Republicans who got caught in the bathroom? Republicans will toss their own for being hyporicitcal while Democrats stand behind theirs and make excuse after excuse for failure.
|
FOLEY! they(republican congress) knew what he was doing it wasNT until it got out they tried to disown him then. but before, tried to cover it up. EVEN pundits(HANNITY) tried to compare that to the latest democrat senator edwards? cheating on his wife as if thats worser than soliciting sex from male minors.
if you ask me about being caught with the pants down if its the opposite sex that shouldnt be too much of a big deal.
that whole clinton impeach him because he got a blow job was uncalled for.there was people calling for his impeachment as soon as it got out. definate some jealousy issues there

Hoffman lost because A) party line voting by Republicans who still voted R even though the R dropped out and endorsed a dem and B)Hoffman himself was a poor politician and C) many conservative R's stayed home.
Nonetheless, he came very close to winning, and he's a third party candidate. A conservative R will likely win that seat next election.

Exactly: I had thought abou that this morning. It didn't hurt and look at the margin of victory?? Winning is one thing, about 20 points that is a landslide that no one really expected..

I think supporting a candidate is a heck of a lot more important than supporting your party..I do not think the republican or democrat party always needs to support the candidate with the R or D next to their name if the person does not represent the thinking of most..

Watch the dems now, Obama is like poison to them.
Wherever he goes and stumps they get crushed.
Dems are running from him and do not to be seen with him.
Obama is the loser here, he cost two major dems jobs.
Keep it up Barry, you are doing a great job to end liberalism and destroy the dem party.

Your premace, (or in this instance Sharptons premace) that the Democrats are there for "gay marriage" is wrong.. flat out wrong. MANY Republicans believe in "gay marriage", we just dont think its a national issue. You can vote for/against gay marriages in your state, I can do the same in mine. Having this right is a Republican ideaology where the Democratic one is that we MUST accept it even if we object to it. I dont HAVE to accept ANYTHING and dont tell me you know better what I HAVE to accept.

So you can possibly fine ONE, who was then "disowned".. Wow, have you looked at the list provided by "EvilRepublican"?

To me it is, but if you dont think "gay sex" is that much of a big deal while proclaiming "family values", you now have to explain all of the uproar by Democrats was indeed hypocritical.

And here you lose the argument by proclaiming ignorance over what took place.

I agree, there are conservatives in all parties. I think recent polls showed just that most people are conservatives.
Problem is, many people don't know who to vote for unless they can find that letter after their name and it matches the one on their voter registration card.

Palin and conservatives suffer devastating defeat in NY- 23
For all their noise about a couple gubernatorial races, I notice the right is suspiciously quiet about Conservative party candidate Doug Hoffman's surprise defeat in NY- 23.
I mean, wasn't he the candidate backed by Palin, Pawlenty and all the conservative talk show hosts? What happened?
Quote:

On a night when conservatives expected a landmark victory in New York's 23rd congressional district, the movement's anointed candidate, Doug Hoffman, instead went down in a startling defeat to Democrat Bill Owens.
