It wasn't even close.

They have got to let her into the next debate in Dallas!

She clearly nailed it and put the other two bickering amongst themselves, as she stole the show.

She has what it takes. A Nurse... A Patriot... A Texan!
but can she turn the tides? that will be interesting to see. I am going to suggest my daughter, her hubby and all their friends pay some attention to her.

the nation is in a recession but Texas is one of the few places where the hit has not been so big. Perry gets some credit for that.

But there are HUGE issues and that trans Texas corridor thing is certainly one of the big ones.

I think i am with you. Medina is likely to get my vote.

I voted Carol Keyton Reylander last time.
How does Perry get credit for all the hard work the cities are doing in Texas...San Antonio is Prospering due to our hard work...some good leadership. We have a major Traffic problem in the affluent/consevative Northside...Perry's leadership wants light rail and wanted to reject Federal monies to re-work clogged SH 281 North.

281 N. is being re-worked and light rail hopefully is dead. No thanks to Perry.

She seemed kind of weird to me on the TV commercial that I saw for the debates. She talked about protecting "texas' sovereignty". WTF. Texas hasn't been a Republic (sovereign nation) since 1836. Just what was she talking about?

Using nullification to strike down unconstitutional federal laws.

I do agree with this.

On Medina wanting to abolish the Property Tax - I agree that Property Taxes hurt the retired and elderly the most as they are on a fixed income. I also understand it is about freedom of ownership. I do get that.

I am wondering with the varying costs of Property Tax, for instance, in a historical district, such as Austin, Property Tax is higher. If we went to an across the board 14.5%, projected, Sales Tax, how will that be fair to everyone?

It is supposed to even out to the same, but at the end of the year, would it really?

Any thoughts or information to share?

Not sure I can give a good answer to that right now. But it would be a broader tax, with visitors from other states or other countries would be making a contribution to our tax every time they buy something or use a service. It also includes people who are coming across the border, and possibly others who are criminals who are living under the radar.
