If you don't score very well on sometimes just a single test, you will be destined for manual labor while the smarter kids can apply to U.S. universities. But don't forget to look at Japan's suicide rate, it's the leading cause of death for individuals under 30. Then there's the average Jewish IQ which puts the rest of the world to shame.

That is something I mention to people who bash our system. Thing is, we give EVERYONE access to public education. In Asia, it's survival of the smartest.

Kicking ass and taking names. I'm so thankful they choose to immigrate here.

They have high IQ's. They have a tremendous work ethic. They respect education. They have higher incomes than whites.

Shattering right wing stereotypes as we speak.
Horse hockey, I know at least a hundred Asian Americans and every single one of them are Republicans. They can not stand that their hard work might be used to pay for others who are lazier than them.

Work ethic = paying your own way to them.

I know a ton of Asians that are Democrats. Which of our anecdotes should be able to negate the scientific poll results? neither- that's why we have polls. Both of us would have come to different conclusions about Asians if we based it on only our very limited personal experiences rather than nation-wide polls.

A lot of it depends on where you live. I live in a conservative county and nearly all the white people I know are Republicans. While a majoity (well, plurality if you factor in independents) of white people are Republican in the nation as a whole, it certainly isn't near the very high amount in my county. Keep in mind the disproportionately high amount of Asians living in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Greater Washington DC, all liberal areas. Perhaps Asians in other areas are more conservative, but here in Maryland at least that's not the case

The last and only time welfare was seriously reformed was under a Democrat and Republicans had the WH and Congress for 6 years and didn't do a damn thing.

The Chinese represent a small portion of Asian-Americans. And if they left China to begin with, chances are they didn't approve of Communism (see Cuban-Americans)

Are talking about the Welfare Reform Act from the 1990s, which Republicans were urging Clinton to sign? Which he finally did after first opposing it then takes credit for it!

If Republicans are so into welfare reforn, why didn't they do a thing about it between 2001-2007 when they had the chance?
