Although some will say women are treated equally, and thus fairly, I refute that evidenced by the anti-Hillary Clinton rhetoric.
Yes, Senator Clinton is ambitious, and yes, she may be viewed as a carpet-bagger, and this can even be characterized as opportunism, but the same can be said, and was said about Bobby Kennedy--but only for a short time.
When you plot and plan a career, and politics is a career, many devices come into play. I suspect two things: (a) Senator Clinton always had high ambition, and took a back seat to former President Clinton until her opportunities became cemented, and (b) if Senator Clinton were a man, her actions would be seen more objectively, and viewed as more appropriate to the male gender.
It is also likely that her response to her husband's sexual forays, and foreplay would be viewed differently if she were a man and the tables were turned.
It is extremely telling, although I'm never certain telling what, how many women speak poorly of Senator Clinton. Another subject for sure.

They were certainly not the first couple that stayed together after one/both had an affair, I don't think anyone outside their circle of friends knows very much of what actually did/did not go on or what the reasons were.
Like I've said, if people don't see adulterous marriages as something of concern in other people they must really on with a much more personal connection than the president, doctor, lawyer, clergy, etc., holding it up against Hillary is just making up an excuse to satisfy a pre-conceived notion of dislike.

Staying with Bill being one, and I know I'll catch flak, but I believe becoming a senator from New York as being another.... No she's not the first to become a senator from a state one is not familiar with, but then she's not the first that I'd label as "power hungry" either.....

So true. . Hilary is very calculating, and has an arrogance about her, and she "knows" she is smarter than most everyone else. And I will probably get flak for this but I think there are few women who would really want to be President of the U.S. Someone in Hilary's circumstances, still relatively young, her only child out of the house might but not that many. . . Really who else? I just don't think many woman aspire to the office.
I think Hilary is definately a unique case.

Hasn't it become pretty much the norm in schools over the last 20-30 years to teach both men and women they can be whatever they dream? After all, we've got women flying F-16s. With the number of women who have risen to high corporate positions why would you think they'd put POTUS off the wish list? Do you really believe women aren't as susceptible to the attraction of power as men?
And arrogance and 'knowing' he's smarter than most around him I would say pretty much describes the current president to a tee although he leaves the difficult calculating to his henchmen. Maybe she's more qualified than you think, or he less

Hubris, arrogance, smarts and intelligence (two different sides of the brain) savvy, you name the superlative, and you name anyone who wants to rise to the top, whether that is the top in politics or elsewhere. And guts!
Perhaps women aren't seen as gutsy--but you know, they are, and more women will come into their power as the years ago by. I see it in this generation, and when I compare it to mine, all I have is pride and a smile on my face for the positive changes we have seen since Susan B. Anthony helps women to get the vote.
And, it took Susan 50 years to make that change!
I hope we don't have to wait 50 years for a women to be seriously considered and elected President of the United States of America.

I believe there's a certain group of people that's just compelled to 'go for it' whether 'it' is scaling a peak, setting speed records, acting, leading a law firm, running for office, whatever challenges them, and I don't really see a great difference between the sexes in that regard.
