When I was a kid I thought the Love Boat was the biggest ship I have ever seen. Every time I saw I huge ship I compared it to the Love Boat.

Did you compare every huge ship to the Love Boat when you were a kid?

I was 17 when the series began so I don't know if that qualifies me as a kid or not but to answer your question, no. I had seen and been on a couple of large ships by that age including an aircraft carrier.
I may be an exception though.

Hmmm, not really, but when I was a kid, whenever I would see two motorcycle cops on the freeway riding side by side I would always yell "Chips!" and then sing the "CHiPs" theme song. Actually I still do that today.

I wouldn't say I compare it but every time I get on a cruise ship big or small I start singing the theme song. Embarrasses my wife to no end.

Nope. Not me. I compared every ship to the Queen Mary because we used to go there all the time when I was a kid. I'd get disappointed if the smoke stacks werent red and say "That isnt as cool as the Queen Mary".

Just like another poster above, I also used to think CHIPs whenever I saw CHP on motorcycles.

I was a kid and it was a cool show. At least up until the last season or so. That remake they did back in the 90s was so bad, though. That and Fantasy Island. You had a great story for a show and they couldn't come up with any new story ideas and they badly botched it with the actors and characters. The Love Boat looks so small now compared to the super cruise ships which are like twice its size.
I used to think the Titanic was huge until I compared it to some other ships. It was big but I thought it was over 1,000 feet and fell short of that.

I have to say though, like a lot of adolescent boys at the time, I had a huge crush on Lauren Tewes, who played Julie your cruise director.
