Default Asian Females portrayed in American Media - Stereotypes

I'm a bit of a movie buff and have noticed that a lot of north american movies disproportionately type cast most asian female (and male) characters into certain stereotypes: nerdy, submissive, inferior to other races, etc....There a few exceptions to the rule. In addition, they never put a very attractive asian actress/actor in the limelight; they are usually casted as second fiddle.

eg. an asian actress that is casted as fairly attractive in american films

eg. an asian actress that is casted as fairly attractive in asian films

Do any of you guys/gals notice this trend/pattern?

Err... The ones cast in Asian films are more attractive? Or that the ones cast in Asian films don't look very... Asian to me? I'm not sure where you're going with this, but just FYI, any threads to do with race have been done to death here and seem to get closed fairly quickly.

I'm not sure if it is a stereotype, but in the movie "Social Network", when the two guys that started Facebook became well known, there was a scene where two asian girls that were kind of like groupies both blew them and it just seemed kind of weird that they would have gotten blown because they set up a website, and that both of the girls were asian.

I have since read that it might not have been an accurate portrayal of what actually happened although Mark Zuckerberg currently has an asian girlfriend.
