Peter Donat

He's the nephew of Oscar-winning actor Robert Donat

He was one of the most prominent acting forces within ACT (the American Conservatory Theater) in San Francisco for many years.

He played the head of the power plant in The China Syndrome (with Michael Douglas and Jane Fonda)
He played the owner of the Red Sox in the 1992 movie The Babe
He played (over a period of 4 years) Fox Mulder's father in The X-files
He was in The Game (with Michael Douglas)
He was J.R. Ewing's doctor (post getting shot at least) on Dallas (the original, not the recent 'remake')

.....and many other roles over a period of 50 years.

He was married to Michael Learned (Olivia Walton, the mother of the kids, on the long running TV show The Waltons...as well as many other roles) for over 15 years and is the father of their (3, IIRC) children.

After he and Michael divorced in 1972, and before he married his current wife in 1983, he lived next door to one of my senior year English class classmates in high school....

.....my classmate convinced Peter to stand and do selections from Shakespeare for an entire period in front of our class.....entirely from memory.

What a treat that was .

I'd love to be a voice actor. I also kinda like Dee Snider, at least when he was voicing the Duke on the series Motorcity.
