I'll add that I did join audible to listen to a specific book...and have found several now that I really enjoyed. It's great listening to books on walks or while driving.
BUT, I will be canceling the subscription as it really is just far too pricey. $15 a month is kinda crazy in my mind. I can books online for 2-3 dollars a pop. Great idea, but man they have to bring the price down.
Disney is phasing out old Fox movies, stopping the sale of home video and blocking private theaters from screening them. The restriction of content might even extend to syndication on cable TV, like TNT or AMC.
It creates a situation where Disney can lock them away for virtually ever, confine them to digital streaming where they can be edited if needed, create scarcity by selling new physical editions for a limited time, or just remake the movies for audiences that aren't able to access the originals.
If they really want to take an extreme stance, they could scrub all movie clips of Fox movies from Youtube and the rest of the Internet, as though they never existed.
Buy physical media and keep it in a safe place. "The cloud" just means you're granting companies the right to manipulate and delete information as they see fit. Maybe not your personal files and photos, but certainly entertainment and related media.

I'm okay with that. IMO, it's better than a cluttered home. If I can't access a movie, that's okay ... there are plenty of others I can watch.
Older consumer here. I still prefer not to keep physical copies. Different priorities. Not sure when you'll get that part. The sky isn't falling for all of us. Just those of you who neeeeeed access to every single movie you've ever watched forever and ever.

When physical books, movies, and music are no longer manufactured, *maybe* you'll get it.

I have no need for them now. Don't see that changing in the future, regardless of whether or not they're manufactured.
