Gaius Baltar is my favorite character of all time.

I also like Bilbo Baggins, Sherlock Holmes, Dr. House, Spock, and Cosmo Kramer. Kramer is actually based on a real person so not sure if he should count.

Baltar? Who's portrayal? John Caicos or the new Galactica? At any rate my favorite is from literature, not the movies made from it. John Clayton Lord Greystoke. Tarzan of the Apes. The movies suck. The books rock.
