'X-Men' Icon Iceman Comes Out as Gay - ABC News

Now to clarify something not shown in the articles, the Iceman who is coming out is a time-displaced original X-Men from another universe rather than the adult Bobby Drake who was in the original X-Men in Marvel's Earth 616 of 1963. This younger Bobby Drake is not the first gay superhero, we've seen the Post New 52 Earth 2 Alan Scott Green Lantern and Northstar all be gay as well as Batwoman come out as lesbian. However Iceman is quite possibly the most known of these.

who cares, I am so sick and tired of people who allow something like this to darken their feelings about other people......and sick and tired of it being the issue it is....

not to mention, the gossip and hate behind it all.....

Its none of my business......

It's a comic, it is your business to know their lives to create a connection to them based on their somewhat private life. It's not the person portraying the character, it's the character itself.

(sigh) like I said, I don't care, and I'm sick and tired of human beings preying on gossip and stuff like this...when there are many more serious issues going on!!!

It is none of my business, or anyone's for that matter.....period!

What reason is that? Comic characters have been gay long before major companies owned Marvel and DC.

Didn't Iceman come out to his parents in one of the X Men movies but he came out as a mutant instead but its subtext was that he was gay? That was pretty funny.

Yes he did in X-Men 2 and there were definite parallels between coming out as gay and coming out as a mutant.

So is "Magneto".

Who cares. Seriously.
