Not the same thing.

This service has now come into my home and I should be able to delete stuff I don't want

Whether it's in your house or not is of absolutely NO relevance. You are entering THEIR library.

Exactly! You are paying to have access to their library of movies and shows. If you want to be able to select what you want to watch, then I suggest buying a bunch of DVDs as no streaming service is going to let you delete things just because you don't like it. The algorithm will change and adapt based on what you watch and search for, and will suggest more things to your liking the more you watch but you are not going to be able to delete anything simply because you don't like e it. The world doesn't revolve around you OP, if you don't like Netflix don't use their service but you sure can't change their service.

Talk about first world probs. It's a streaming service, not a personal dvd collection. It's not like they are making you watch things you don't want to. You may think it should be that way, but it's not. Don't use it if it's so troublesome.

Still should be an option. I'm sure it won't happen because then more people would drop Netflix once they realize 90% of the content is junk

It's not an option. It wouldn't even be possible. How is Netflix supposed to know what movies you want to see when you log on? Are they supposed to read your brain? You don't even make sense.

90% of the content may not interest you, but that doesn't make that content junk.

This. It takes time for the site algorithms to learn your tastes; until it does, it can't help but show you stuff you have no interest in.

Of course it's possible.

Are you saying in 2017 Netflix couldn't make it possible for individuals to personalize their library/profile?
