It's news for people that follow celebrities. Same as if one of the Royals get married or a celebrity gets divorced.
All of which is pop culture fluff which belongs in--or on-- the entertainment section of the news/telecast. Better yet, leave it to Entertainment Tonight.

Only one Celebrity I follow: He lived over 2000 years ago and died because He put the needs of the downtrodden and derelict ahead of His own welfare and the interests of the state, and paid with His life!
There will be more such news in future, it just is what passes for entertainment these days. That guy from Million Dollar listing for instance announced he and his husband *are pregnant* with twins.
All this being as it may, it is no different than when females and others sat around reading "fan" or whatever magazines such as The Star, munching bonbons. People who don't have much going on in their own lives live vicariously through others. That is the essence of entertainment "fame" such as it is, and has been going back to the glory days of Hollywood.
I've never got the infatuation with movie stars, etc. Life keeps me busy enough don't need to spend countless hours obsessing about someone else's life.
There was a story on the local news along with pictures this morning about Beyonce's twins. And?
I honestly do not understand the infatuation people have with celebrities. It's great her and Jay-Z had twins. But to waste a minute or so on the local news to tell me about it? I'm not talking about TMZ or the other celebrity TV shows out there as they can talk about this ad nauseum. To make a local news station is crazy IMO, and of course I blame the producers of the news for making it a story.
I don't know how you get your news, but I listen to a lot of news on the radio and visit newspaper sites on a daily basis. I have not encountered any news about Beyonce or even twins even once.
If you are encountering a lot of trivial celebrity news, then you must be visiting celebrity news sites or watching celebrity news shows. Don't attack "news producers" for your own viewing choices. If you want news, there are plenty of reputable, intelligent sources of it; it has never been easier to find.
Who cares. That big hideous husband of hers knocked her up. I can't stand either of them. They both feel they are far more important than they are. I couldn't stand her from the time she went solo and thought she was better hannthe other two members of D.C., not to mention what she did to the original member that they squeezed out since daddy was the manager.
Oh, and their close friendship with Obama makes me dislike her that much more. Thanks for bringing two more of their gene pool in the world. Look for their great debut album in 2040 which will be filled with the same garbage their parents spew out.
