There's an adult video store here that's been around for years. With all the stuff like that on the internet I'm surprised it's still in business.

Im surprised even these are still around. Theres one not far from me. There used to be a gnarly dive bar next door to it. Numerous drunks would often stumble in after a bender at the bar. Place sold $7 pitchers, and $3 shots. Friday and Saturday nights were a show in and of itself if you counted the occasional fight. One time a regular walked in, downed one shot and ran out and barfed in front of the porn store. Fun times.

We still have a few stores that rent DVDs (and also sell pizza) here in Omaha. And they appear to be ding fairly well.

Family Video has 700 locations, mostly in the Midwest. The closest to me is a mile away.

My suburb had a Block Buster until 2011.The last time I went to Block Buster with my parents was October 2000. We do still have one more video store left, but it's an 'adult' video store, unfortunately. We also had a couple Hollywood Video stores until about '06.

We have a few of them around here, they are all doing GREAT.

They are sort of a unique company, they got in at the right time and it was when all the major players were already closed up, like Blockbuster, Video Village, etc. They probably realize this industry is temporary and will only thrive until DVDs are not made anymore, but they are making money off it while they can, the larger companies got out too soon, and that paved the way for Family Video.

I only know of 1 DVD rental place in my area that is independently owned & I haven't been there in a long time...hope it's still there. I really do miss Blockbuster though!
