In the past couple days I watched a Neil young documentary and a Dr Dre documentary I was surprised to see both were influenced by kraftwerk. Dr. Dre more than Neil young.

I am almost forty and I am surprised I have not heard of kraftwerk until now.

Here's some Kraftwerk for you that a lot of people who have heard of Kraftwerk have probably never heard:

It's not hard to think that Neil Young's fine electronics-heavy album Trans (1982) was influenced by Kraftwerk, especially the songs "Computer Age" and "Sample and Hold."

In the '80s, I listened to Kraftwerk a bunch, but mainly Autobahn, Radio-Aktivitat and (their best album, and the only one I still like) The Man-Machine, with the hit "The Robots."

the 3 stables of current pop music, that had the most influence , would be kraftwerk , james browns "drum breaks", and the 808 drum machine.

Which inspired, of course, the fictional krautrock band in The Big Lebowski called 'Autobahn'.

I daresay, Kraftwerk ultimately has influenced more musicians than the Beatles. Right up there with the Velvet Underground.
