Here's an off-the-wall one.

A standard element in many stage clown routines is the ability to sway from side to side at extreme angles. It's done by hooking flat cleats on the shoes to flat hooks on the stage. (Best example I can point to is John C. Reilly's performance of "Mr. Cellophane" in Chicago. He doesn't take it to the extreme some clowns and tramps did/do.)

What's the name of those cleats/hooks?

I recall knowing it once, and it's something a bit odd. Google almost completely falls down on this, being distracted by keywords with many other more modern meanings. I was amused to find that Michael Jackson patented, or attempted to patent, a variation that let him do one of his signature moves. Nothing like claiming credit for something that was old and dusty before you were born...

I think the shoes are called either "lean shoes" or "slap shoes" (from the sound they can make). I've not heard of cleats being used, but imagine the flat leather/wood could easily be slipped under something for leverage.
