It might be not the right section to post this, sorry for the incovenience.

With the current anti-trust laws and Disney having some big debts after they got Fox, Lucasfilm, Marvel comics. It'll take a big miracle for Disney to achieve that.
Disney Buying DC Comics 2021, Marvel News Story

Quote:
There's no denying that Marvel is the undisputed king of comic book and superhero films right now and Marvel Studios recently proved that they can also bring their A-game on television. Still, give credit where credit is due as DC is obviously trying its best to keep up with its "rival" company despite how convoluted the brand's own shared film universe has become.

But have you ever imagined how things would be like if both Marvel and DC existed under the same umbrella and were both operated by Disney? Some fans have actually been toying with that mindboggling idea for years now and according to a stunning new rumor, we may actually be close to seeing it happen.

Not happening. DC is going to Discovery.

The Mouse would no doubt love to own everything, but they cannot, and it would also be a monopoly.

And more ironic, Disney had once tried to buy Warner Bros back in 2016 before buying Fox.

A bit of alternate Hollywood history has emerged. Disney had always been a powerhouse studio but they reached another level in 2017 when it was revealed that they were looking to buy most of Fox's media assets, including all of the 20th Century Fox movie studio. Yet, as it turns out, then Disney CEO Bob Iger had other plans before setting its sights on Fox. And those plans involved buying Warner Bros. back in 2016. Had this happened, we would be living in a wildly different media landscape right now.

I never would have thought Hollywood would falter. I definitely never would have thought that Disney of all studios would be the one consolidating all of past American culture under one roof.

I doubt anti trust laws apply to fictional universes.

There's a difference between IP protection and anti trust laws. There are sometimes related issues, but separate laws.
