I just started watching/listening to this dialogue/interview with Jordan Peterson and Mohamedou Slahi, "The Mauritanian." A movie was made about this man, Jody Foster starred in it.
Fair warning: JPs interviews are often VERY long. Occasionally I listen to them in segments. More often, they are so captivating, I listen to the entire conversation in one sitting.
I'm almost done with this but I am still not clear on his initial arrest. His cousin was a so-called spiritual advisor to ..... wait for it..... Osama Bin Laden.....and he (Mohamedou) moved some money for the cousin, supposedly, for medical care of a relative of that cousin. That's what he says here. Other sources say other things.
The whole rest of the story is another matter entirely and yea, you'd think we'd be better than holding someone for 14 freakin' years without charging him with anything. I'm sure I'm not getting the whole story here.
It really depends what kind of podcast you're seeking. A large number are sociopolitical-minded. One young guy I really like is Coleman Hughes. He interviews controversial people, even when he strongly disagrees with them, to keep dialogue open.
