It's easier to name the ones I like: Smothers Brothers, Newhart, Pat Paulsen (yep, I'm a Boomer). More recently, I like the Blue Collar team, especially Ron White and Bill Engvall, although I liked Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy to a lesser extent. Oh, and I did like Bill Cosby's comedy skits, too. Oh, and Burns and Allen, of course!!

Of the ones I couldn't stand, I would put Rodney Dangerfield at the top of that list, and I also never liked Joan Rivers or Don Rickles, as I don't find insulting people to be funny at all, even in jest.

Good thread, btw.

It's not so much the witless so-called comedians that I find unfunny and offensive - which I do with their dialog typically peppered with what was once referred to as foul and unacceptable language. What bamboozles and offends me more so is their audiences who just about roll on the floor in hysterics at the delivery of mindless banter and filth these morons come out with under the guise of 'humor'. At one time there used to be a code of ethics heavily applied to the entertainment industry. Those standards have long since gone the way of the dodo and now we have what we have.

Ditto that. I'm a standup comedian fanatic. There's enough of them out there that we're allowed to have particular tastes in comedy and it's interesting to see what people do and do not like.

There's been a few well known comedians in the past few years that have gotten excessively political, and - cringing at usage of a loathed buzzword - divisive as well. So disappointing. I had to cull them from my list of favorites.

I enjoy comedy that is clever enough to make you laugh AND think at the same time, but blatant politics or haranguing monologues turn me off pretty quickly.

I do not know if they are considered comedians, but I do not think the night talk show hosts are funny. Jimmy Fallon, Kimmel, Letterman, Colbert. Only one I like is Leno.

Most female comedians are bad like amy schumer who was already mentioned...talking about their women parts is not funny imho.

I guess Nick Cannon is considered a comedian, among other things, he is really bad too.

Same here. I personally love Brian Regan - zero obscenities or offensive stuff.
