I look average. I could care less what the media tells me I SHOULD look like. My husband and my family like the way I look, fat and all LOL
I find it interesting that you somehow magically know what "most men" think LOL

The implied and well-worn race card rant by a few here is similarly ridiculous. I guess now that Obama is president the race card nazis need to find something to whine about.

What do you think of American standards of beauty? Has it increased or decreased? And is it just me, or are beauty pageants becoming fairer toward women of color?
Yeah, white, blonde, and blue eyed is ultra beautiful!

But the rarest combination I've never seen is beautiful with natural red hair and green eyes!

And then I rarely or have never seen an ASIAN woman Supermodel! No asian Victorias Secret model too! So there is not too much help for women of color yet, mostly they are black or hispanic.

The "standard of beauty" for men is different than the "standard of beauty" imposed on women by themselves.

The most attractive models in the world are the curvy, healthy models of Victoria's Secret.... which are light years away from the sticks in sacks that walk down Paris runways.

Given a choice, I'd say 90% of men would choose Giselle Bundchen over an anorexic Prada model.

As for "blonde" being the beauty standard, I don't necessarily think that's true at all. Not for a long time. I think since the media has "wisened up" that there's a market for women of all hair and skin types, they've been eager to showcase different women.

I don't think there's any standard of American beauty. Some of the most celebrated women today are Halle Barry; Jennifer Lopez; Eva Longoria; Katie Holmes; Angelina Jolie....none of these women are blonde/blue-eyed.
