I went to one years ago, circa 1977. I was very uncomfortable there. I have nothing against naked females, but a "public" setting like that bothered me. Haven't been back to one since.
What's the point? You're going to get all hot & bothered, but you're not going to get to have sex with them, so you leave with a severe case of "blue balls". So why go?

I have been to many strip clubs and I'm a woman. I have been to strip clubs all over this land of ours Just kidding, I've been to about 5 I guess. The last time I went to a strip club I was totally traumatized. The last dancer had left one of the stages. She was a blond I think. And the next dancer was a black girl. As soon as she got onto the stage, all of the customers got up and moved to another table to watch another girl.
I brought my GF to a nice place as she was curious about it (and i think wanted to know if they did things that excited me). I was not a big strip club guy (too cheap) but didnt mind going on occasion, usually with a business tie in so I didnt have to buy drinks. Anyhow she felt it was much classier than she imagined (We went to a Ricks, Mens Club level place in Houston). But I mentioned there were 'more affordable' clubs for those w/o disposable incomes. She didnt have a problem with it, although she wanted a 'private dance' before I went out in the future.
With that said, I think the OP guy friend was a bit over the edge. I know a few women who go to the nice clubs for the drink specials (yes, they may be bi-curious), but some of the dancers may be too. Used to be women werent allowed in w/o male escorts.
Nothing wrong with it. I went to one a few times some years ago. It was a high end joint...well as high end as you can get for semi neekid gals. Yup the drinks are a rip off, but I'd go there for lunch, because you could get surf and turf with all the trimmings for something like $4. Only draw back was that women had to always be accompanied by a man, so I went with my lawyer a few times. It was interesting talking to the girls.
I've been. It was actually by mistake one time. But I would have no problem going again if the group I was with wanted to.
I have heard the lunches were really cheap.
I wonder if that's still the case that women have to be accompanied by a man. Doesn't seem like they could get away with that nowadays. & they would lose out on those bachelorette parties.

I've never been but I hired a stripper for my ex once and I got one for my Dad for Father's Day too. So I have seen strippers perform.
A lot of the girls I used to dance with went on to do "exotic dancing" all around the world. **shrug** I don't have anything against strip clubs, it's just not really my cuppa tea.
I've been to many strip clubs with and without my boyfriend and always had a blast. I've paid for my man's lap dance, chatted with the strippers, got some free drinks and had some good free buffet too. I'm not puritanical about sex, nudity, etc., so it's all good - like being in a fantasy. You walk out the door and back to reality.

Yeah, once. The drinks were a rip-off. And "Barbie" was too orange for my retina's taste.
