Default Hammer or Michael Jackson Who Is/Was The Better Dancer?

Wassup Folks! I have this question for you.

This weekend, my 10 year old son and I watched "Hammertime". At some point during the show, he said, "Oh, that's MC Hammer?" I said yeah!

There was a point in the show when Hammer was being interviewed by a radio station. The radio host asked Hammer if there was anyone that ever really "challenged" him when it came to dancing.

Hammer replied (paraphrased), no, not really; my stuff is on a whole different level and can't nobody touch me.

Well, to that, my son said, "M.J. could have smoked Hammer when it comes to dancing." To that I said, "I am afraid not! Hammer was/is the truth with that dancing.

So, now that I have set the stage, what do you say? Who would have gotten who between M.J. and Hammer?

Michael.

MC was certainly good with his own moves but I think he "jumped" too many times in his routines. I know, I know, it was his trademark. . . parachute pants 'n' all.

Hammer was a star in his own right, but I think he gave away his money and other stuff lol

Michael, weird yes. But tremendously talented, decades of talent. I believe Michael's body was suffering from dancing for 35-40 of his 50 yrs of life. Hammer is like a 90's wonder, Michael..sheesh he's like..lifetime talent

I don't think one had a more complex style than the other. They both could hold their own.

Personally, I hate all of this choreographed dancing and I pretty much stopped watching music videos around 1990 because of it.

Anyways, MJ's stuff is highly choreographed. Does that take away from the talent? No. But you can believe that hundreds of hours were spent practicing and probably hundreds of takes were shot just to make sure everything is perfect. Nothing wrong with by any means, but have you noticed that MJ's back-up dancers are often times doing the same thing as MJ? Since the back-up dancers are professional dancers could it be safe to say that they are even better then MJ? I say yes!

MJ definitely had some impressive moves, but how much of it was just for show? MC Hammer could throw down dome impressive moves as well, but his stuff largely seems to be based on him doing his own thing rather then trying to impress fans or sell records.

Both of these guys could hold their own if the routine was choreographed, but in a freestyle match-up MC Hammer would definitely win.

MJ was sexy with his dancing (and I'm not talking about the crotch grabbing). Hammer was not.
