I remember "All That" and "Kids In the Hall". "Ren & Stimpy", "Rocko's Modern Life", "Are You Afraid of the Dark", "Pete & Pete", "Real Monsters", "Doug", and "Hey Arnold" were great too. I'm still like, 'Where's the creativity?"
If you're talking about Saturday morning type cartoons, I grew up on The Roadrunner and Bugs Bunny and I still like them now. However, the super hero cartoons that I used to love in elementary school are embarrassing to me now.
I do like some of the stuff on Adult Swim (Family Guy and Metalocalypse particularly) and I used to like South Park before it got too preachy. Was also a big Simpsons fan, but that jumped the shark about ten years ago for me. I wish they would put it out of its misery.
I grew up with Vintage cartoons. Classics. Max Fleischer. Farmer gray.(Alfalfa) Looney tunes, Warner Bros. Popeye, etc. They were fun. I can't stand most of the modern cartoons now. They are so bland. I did enjoy a cartoon called "Clutch Cargo."
I remember watching Clutch Cargo with the moving lips--with his boy spinner and his dog paddlefoot! LOL
First of all, I was born in 86 and wasn't into cartoons until 1991 (I was looking at Sesame Street before toons), so I grew up in one of the best eras of cartoon viewing. I elementary school quality cartoons started at 6:30am to about 9, 2pm to about 4:30. I remember getting early on Saturday/Sunday morning at around 6am just to watch quality toons until about 12pm (or at least tape it). Some of my favorites were X-Men (TAS 92-97), Spider Man (TAS 94-98), Batman (TAS 92-95), Gargoyels (94-97), Tiny Tune Adventures (90-95), Eek! The Cat (92-97), Pinky and The Brain (95-98), Beast Wars (96-99), Darkwing Duck (91-92), and a bunch of other great shows. I understand that the 80s had some quality classics too. Sadly, I stopped looking at cartoons when I started high school in 02 because they were all garbage and the animation sucked big time. I feel sorry for the kids growing up today because, what little stuff they have to watch is brainless. I actually can't believe I'm doing a "When I was a kid", thread but if you have any toons that you loved growing up, lets hear it.

LOL, you didn't like Beast Wars? Man, that show had revolutionary graphics, great voice acting, and a great storyline (awesome plots). I was on the tail end of those three that you mentioned but I do remember seeing GI Joe and it was pretty popular when I was in either kindergarten or first grade (can't remember). Transformers was big in my young days too, the action-figures that is. Growing up, the consensus "Holy Quadruple" of cartoons were X-Men, Batman, Spiderman, and Gargoyels (top 20 all time along with your 3). I have to rep you though because, even though I disagree, your statement on Beast Wars was funny.

Might I suggest that vintage cartoons, were made for a wider age group than today. The classic cartoons, from the 30's, 40's and 50's always contained references that only adults would get so it required a higher level of sophistication to craft a feature that appealed to such a wider audience.
