I have never heard of Atlanta as a town of entertainment.
What do they have besides CNN and Coca-Cola?

I'm not sure i really understand the question. Are you asking which city is better for getting into the entertainment industry or which city is more reknowned in the entertainment industry?

I'll attempt to answer both and hope it hits near the target.

If you are trying to get into the entertainment industry: New York, although Atlanta is up-and-coming

The competition is cutthroat in NYC but the opportunities are around every corner. It's the center for television and radio and is second only to LA in film. It's also the undisputed champ of Broadway(no brainer, right?). The only disadvantage is that it's expensive and those starting out in the entertainment business usually don't make a pile of money.

Atlanta would be cheaper to live in but the opportunities are far less. The music industry is dominated by urban/hip hop with a relatively minor rock scene. Television and film is gaining presence here.

It can be just as hard, if not harder, to break into entertainment in Atlanta than in NYC. It's a smaller pond with some big fish, in other words. Atlanta will never be on the same level as NYC when it comes to entertainment but if you can find a niche you can do quite well.

Atlanta is well-known for it's urban(aka hip hop/r&b) culture but little beyond that. New York is both a producer and a product of entertainment. It's probably the only city I've been to, besides maybe Hollywood, where I've gotten a true sense of Deja Vu because it's so ingrained in American culture.

And parties? Networking parties? Event parties? Frat parties?

Is this even a serious question? Atlanta is a cultural backwater compared to one of the greatest cities on Earth!
