Update: Well, looks like the Brookfield Chuck E Cheese has agreed to give up its liquor license. Definitely a step in the right direction, if you ask me. Will it solve all the problems? No, because no-class thug parents will continue to be no-class thug parents regardless. At least now Chuck E Cheese won't be adding the fuel to their fire.

LOL!! That and an entire bottle of Tylenol. A few of them around us serve beer. I have not seen any parents "drunk" and don't really see many people drinking beer in the ones that DO sell it.
Not that I go often as even my kids when little never really liked to go there. A new one opened by us 2 1/2 years ago and I've only been ONCE! I'd rather give them $25 each and take them to Target for them to buy anything they wanted and could still come out ahead . Then we could go to the park and they can run around outside and not be in an enclosed place that is deafening and causes me to get headaches. Guess being I suffer from migraines and I can NOT stand people that let their children lose all thoughts of manners in those places got to me. Turns out even my own kids don't care for the places either as they can be a total zoo and it ends up not being fun at all even for a child.
Sounds to me more like it was a problem w/ that particular location and their clientele than how the entire corporation works. However, I'd not hesitate to knock out a few parents if they started acting ugly towards my kids or my friends kids and I witnessed it. Seen that happen many a time not just at Chuck E Cheese but those fast food playlands. Got so tired of those and pathetic parents using them as a "no supervision required" playground run amock that I came close plenty of times to letting a nogood mom know how rotten her demon child was and she wasn't much better if she could sit by and let her overweight 8-10 year old bully little preschoolers. Okay, off my soapbox.
Glad that location gave up their liquor license. Sounds like they need to give up more than that. Don't think them not serving is really going to solve their problems.

Now I'm hearing that the Brookfield (Wisconsin) Chuck E. Cheese is having MAJOR problems. I live near Brookfield, but like I said, it has been probably 10 years since I visited that restaurant. The problems have even made the national news (how embarrassing)!!! Apparently, adults frequenting the Cheese are getting all liquored up (people here drink waaaaaaaaaay too much) and flat-out brawling in the restaurant. The police have been called there 81 times in the past 16 months . They've even found evidence of drug usage in there .
You can read more about this story at Journal-Sentinel Online, story about Chuck E Cheese.
What the h*ll is wrong with these so-called adults??? They are a disgrace. How dare they behave so ridiculously in a place that is supposed to be a fun and safe place for kids???
But my real question is: Chuck E Cheese sells liquor??? When did that start? I don't remember that from the days when we went.
Funny thing is, when I told my now-teenage son about the problems, the very first question out of his mouth was, "They sell liquor at Chuck E Cheese???" I guess great minds really do think alike .

It's to numb the pain and throbbing in the head from all those screaming kids!!!!

This story kinda-sorta reminds me of my parents taking me to Octoberfest or Wurstfest down in New Braunfels, Texas.
The glaring difference being that I never saw one fight break out or any evidence of drug usage in the many years we attended those events.
How many fights and how many police calls (81?!)did it take for the managers to figure out that the profit from selling liquor doesn't outweigh the damage they were doing to their own names and to the community?

There's nothing wrong with Chuck E. Cheese selling alcohol. Its a family restaraunt that just so happens to cater to kids. You can get alcohol at several of the restaraunts in Disneyland.

Give it to the kids, that way they'll be too wasted to moan when its time to leave.

I'm not being sarcastic. I just never knew anyone would do such a thing. I don't frequent bars so I didn't know parents did that. That's awful.

I grew up going to bars with my dad. He use to take me to play pool and darts all the time. I dont see anything wrong with it.
If it was a rough bar where fights were happening and I could get hurt that would be one thing. But, these were local friendly bars where my dad and I could hang out and play pool. I dont see anything wrong with that and I turned out fine.
I dont see anything wrong with Chucky E. Cheese selling alcohol. Adults need to control themselves. People have to be held responsible for their actions. If we stopped selling everything that could potentially cause a problem we would eventually have nothing.
I am more concerned about the lack of healthy food options their than I am about the alcohol served.

Truthfully, I don't have kids but if I did there is NO way I'd take them to the bastion of hell that is Chuck E Cheese. But if that rule somehow changed I'd guess I'd need a stiff drink to cope with it.
And more seriously I agree with previous poster who mentioned the bigger issue, which is how unhealthy the food is there.
