Default Eugene/Corvallis Landscape

Considering going to the University of Oregon or Oregon State. I have done alot of research on the area and everything looks good except for property crime. The only thing I can't really tell is the landscape. Can you see the mountains when you're in Eugene or Corvallis or is it just hills and valleys?

You can see Mary's Peak, the highest mountain in the Coast Range from Corvallis. But I don't remember seeing the Cascades when I worked there. It seems like you'd have to start climbing the Coast Range to see the Cascades. Corvallis is pretty deep in the valley.

In certain areas on a clear day you can see Mt Jefferson and the Three Sisters. You can also see the Coast Range and the Coburg Hills which are around 3200 ft.
