Default Pleasant Hill vs Cottage Grove vs Creswell

Looking in this general area and Now I am down to the question of Personalities of these places (from locals). How do they compare? What is the "feel" what do people "say" about each of these places, people, schools? What reputaion is there (to locals)? Looking at those web pages that tell you data... and I dont think they can be right. One says Creswell has a huge amount of crime. It really didnt look like a crime ridden town to me. One say 25 inches of rain, the next will say 70 inches. I dont want to rely on "data" like that.
We are looking for a place to live for the next 25 years, not a house to live in until the price goes up enough to make a profit and sell (not that anything is wrong with that, we are just looking for long term). Thank you.

(A few people answered my questions on another post specifically about Cottage Grove and it sounds nice. Thank you!)
