I know the unemployment rate is high there and everywhere, it's about the same here in Winston Salem NC with, I believe, around 100,000 more people.
But, what's the retail market like there in retail.
I know if need be I could find another job here rather quickly in the grocery field if need be.
I'm currently a butcher here making around 35k which is fine here and I know it will be there too.
Can anyone recommend some decent places to work in the grocery field between Eugene and Roseburg, which is where I will be moving later this year?

Thanks for any help

Market of Choice is currently hiring - you can apply online at their website. Safeway, Albertson's, Fred Meyer's, and if you are a butcher you might call Long's Meat Market - they are awesome.

You'd be better off.... perhaps... just looking up grocery stores online & seeing if there are applications being taken... I don't think you'll get much input here on C-D... Jobs are scarce around here & meat cutters get the best pay... as you know... Market of Choice is a really wierd place... HR-wise .... and the meat cutters there mostly look like they're about 19 years old so go figure!!!!

Someone in my home applied at Market of Choice for a barista postion. She brought 3 references & they wanted 4 more!

You'd probably have a better chance at getting a job in a Portland suburb... but the cost of living is higher & the freeway driving (my opinion) is like the San Diego freeway (HELL!). But then, again, all the cool kids go to live in Portland : )

But if you need to be between Eug & Roseburg... why not a bit further south like Medford or Ashland (my geography is horrible so maybe it isn't south... :/ )

I'll be very curious where you finally decide on working: please give us updates!
