Most everyone has a gun. Not just in the house but on their hip. Crime is low. Very low, even with the meth.

Yes, I know about the area between Veneta and Crow, grew up in Veneta, but I knew several people from the area. It's really pretty out that way, and not many people living out there at all. You will have no trouble with noisy neighbors! Crime is not high there due to low population. I would live there, it's nice!

It really is nice. Crime is higher per population density, but is kept under control by the many gun totting residents

Can you find a single family home on a smaller, more averaged-sized lot out there? We've been looking without any luck. It's mostly 3-5 acres and/or up. We do love that area and love that school district, too. Tiny, but good.

There is no sewer or water service in rural areas, so you are stuck buying a lot big enough to accommodate a septic drain field and a spare, and a well that is at least 100 feet from any part of the septic system. By the time you add in a house, driveway, and maybe an accessory building, 3 acres is about the absolute minimum size for a rural residential lot.
