There seem to be a plethora of mobile home parks in the Eugene/Springfield area. Are there any that should be avoided due to: yearly flooding, high crime/drug area, generally bad reputations?

We plan to move to Eugene within the next year or so. My husband will be retired; we may or may not have a small dog by then - the dog is very old; and we have a cat. We are definitely old enough for senior parks, though not specifically looking for one. Pet restrictions could pose a problem.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

A senior friend lives in Parkside Mobile Home Park. It's just outside the city limits but still just a short distance from shopping. It's all seniors and small dogs are allowed. The owner of the park is thinking about having all cats kept in the house but don't know if that will be a rule.

Not fancy but people keep their places up. There's a pool and rec room. I've never heard him complain about noise.

Next to a park and the McKenzie River.

It's interesting that Parkside is a senior park - it's not listed as such in MHVillage. Actually there's practically no info on Parkside, so your post is very helpful. It looks like it's close to a very active bus line, too, which is one of the things we're looking for. (Been in the boonies for so long, am so sick of having to drive to do anything.)

When you say there's a pool and rec room, are you talking pool table or swimming pool?

Thanks so much for your post.

Thank you.

Are there any in particular that are to be avoided, or are all 55+ parks pretty nice?

I'm really hoping to be within walking distance (within 1 or 2 miles) of a bus line.

Thanks for your post.
