i have lived here long enough to know but I still need to ask; What is so special about the Veneta Country Fair? It seems to be less commercialized than some overly well-established Rennaisance faires, but that doesn't mean that it's going to be the high point of mid-summer. I would love to hear from fans, from people who attended the first time with no preconceptions and had a crazily good time.

Where, oh where is the Veneta Country Fair? Is it somewhere in the United States?

The Oregon Country Fair is located near Veneta, Oregon, about 15 miles of Eugene. This is their web site: Oregon Country Fair 2014

This thread is being moved to the Eugene Area sub-forum.

Ava Ruth, have you been there?

The real draw is the elbow rubbing and pot smoking with the old school hippie craftsman, and the opportunity for voyeuristic nudity.

Generally the actual nudity is at night for those staffers and select few with camping passes.

For the regular daytime ticketed crowd, you may see the occasional painted breast, but the daytime show is much less debauch these days than a decade or so back. If you go for the purpose of seeing nudity, you'll probably be disappointed and wish you'd spent your $25 at a club instead.

They do have some events and crafts targeted for kids, but by and large these days I'd say it's mostly the music is the primary draw. Always 2-3 stages going with music, plus a variety of theatrical things (puppets and the like).

The grounds are a swamp in the winter, but in the summer it can get pretty dusty except in the rare year where you get some rain. Parking is pricey (and limited), so for the most part it's recommended to catch the bus out from VRC.

I can tell you are not from here and have not been to the Oregon Country Fair. Many casual goers don't realize this is the premier drug event in Oregon. Kind of like burning man in some ways too.

We are not talking beach nudity here. We are talking stoned voyeurism, and the link above does contain nudity and probably should not have been posted here in this forum unless the standards have been lowered.

And Elina, my comment that you referred to was not about the nudity at the event. Everyone for a thousand miles around here is aware of that. My comment and warning was for the Forum users who were being directed to a site that contains nudity.
