Hi Kapron82, we're going to the Olympic Peninsula instead. I didn't realize Oregon's income tax and capital gains rates were so high. I was in Portland last week, and Oregonians are definitely getting some good bang for their tax buck, but we just can't afford it. JM

Don't be fooled. The taxes you pay will be equal in any ten year period. Dollar for dollar.

Thank you Steve, we've got capital gains tax issues. 9.9% in OR, 0$ in WA. We would prefer OR, but we'll be happy in WA too. JM

You will still pay the same in any ten year period to live in Washington.

Where does WA pick up the revenue it loses from the lack of an income tax? JM

Don't believe the Press hype. We dislike same-sex marriage, illegal drugs, some breeds of animal, and heathens just as much here as anywhere else.

When I read this kind of narrow-minded post I thank God that I grew up in the liberal city of Portland & not in Dallas where tolerance isn't practiced.

You do realize that Dallas elected an openly gay Hispanic woman as county sheriff 10 years ago and she is still popular and still serving. Texas as a whole is a very conservative state but the big cities are fairly liberal and tolerant including Dallas.
