Default The University of Oregon

Does the place really only care about sports or does it care about other things but also have an emphasis on sports? I heard the architecture program is good and is the only plce in oregon someone can get an accredited architecture degree. Is it a good program? I also want to major in something environmental and minor in photography, so I wonder how it is there for that. Im a little bit worried about Eugene now. I heard people equally care about arts and the outdoors/sports which is how I am. I hope thats true and not more about sports

I graduated from U of O in 1986. While I can't comment on how the architecture school is now, I do know it was highly renowned back in the 80s. Lots of people in my dorm had come from all over the country to attend the program, which IIRC was five years, as opposed to the standard four.

Compared to other college towns, Eugene isn't sports-obsessed. As the football team has greatly improved since the 80s, there's a lot more attention given to it now. Track and field is huge. If you're artsy and outdoorsy, you'll love Eugene. It's a very liberal laid-back place, and expect to see lots of hippies.
