I just visited Salem and the negatives are overrated. However, I saw very few AAs and more Hispanics and Asians if that matters to you. The big question I would have is the hairdresser, but I am sure you could get to Portland for that once a month.

Esya, I totally agree with you. I have been in town for a few days now and I have yet to experience any negative attitudes.

Again, I want to thank all of you for your suggestions. I am finding my experience here in Salem, OR a welcoming one.
