If you want somewhere fun, DON'T live in sligo. It's out in the country and ia reeeaaly boring. Dublin is the best out of them all. Great pubs and great people ( Not all though) If you don't want lots of stag parties then dublin isnt great. Cork is alright but at the Same time its not great. If you really want fun then your best city is dublin and the worst place is sligo. But at the minute we are in an appalling economic situation, so its best to put your plans on hold! South dublin is expensive but youve got a lot. of activities there

Possibly teaching English? Asia is not unknown in attracting folk looking for another shot at life. Why not? Depends what one has to lose but going i expect. Always good to hear about folk wth a sense of spirit and adventure trying out something new.Do feel that a lot of the world has become way too risk adverse these days.

Since end of 95..but do travel a lot.For example was out of OZ in total close on five months this year. (Asia,Middle East,Europe) Not sure could manage being Down Under if not being able to get away. (bit of business and a lot of pleasure) There has been some changes in that time, believe me. Sadly in my opinion not too many for the better.

Umm, all the jobs seem to be leaving California; not coming here. Real unemployment is around 20% and the state budget is seriously in the toilet.
As for Ireland, you can see the island from end to end in a few days, including the places on your list.
How big a city or town do you want? Galway is a favorite because it's really just a big town with a good music scene. Dublin is THE city. If you're looking for a nice little village, aka 'tidy town', you could look into Malahide, which would situate you near the big city.

Ah kk. Yea I hear you, Australia is rather remote. Yea the prices on groceries their are so expensive, and seem to keep rising. Also, since there is so much tax, my bf has basically said there's tax on tax, and I can believe that.

The jobs I'm saying I'm seeing go to California are in retail. When I look on retail websites for where "New stores" are going a-lot of them end up over there, so you might not be getting big industries, but retail is the type I'm talking about, as I would prefer those being where I live, as apposed to way too many fast food places. It severely outnumbers a-lot of other businesses in town altogether.
Hmm mmk. Well size-wise no bigger than 400,000 roughly. Don't want it to feel too huge with too much traffic. Smallest I'd be fine with is probably 5,000 and still be relatively close to a bigger city within a 20 minute radius, so it's a pretty big range that we'd be fine with. My bf might do better with 200,000 or less, mostly depends on how big it would feel. Hmm thanks for that. I'll look into Malahide.
