I will be staying with a friend in london for 3 weeks in January, we will be going up to Manchester, Edinburgh, and over to Wales while iʻm over there. I am also interested in hopping on a cheap ryanair flight to a city in mainland europe, but thereʻs so many choices that are inexpensive (gotta love ryanair) iʻm having a hard time deciding. Unfortunately Prague and Amsterdam, two cities iʻm itching to go to donʻt have flights going out of the airports I could fly out of. Any suggestions? Iʻm a 21 year old college student from california USA.

I don't think it matters much - simply pick the one on ryanair's roster that appeals to you the most and for which you can get a cheap flight. Paris would be an obvious choice as it isn't too far. Perhaps Berlin, Rome, or Venice - each one is quite amazing.

If you want to go to Amsterdam badly, you can also simply hop on a plane to Düsseldorf and take the train over... Will cost you roughly 29 Euros (and two hours of your life) on Germany's ICE train

I would go to either Paris, Nice, Rome, or Madrid. Spain sounds nice because in the winter it should be warm(er) than the other places.

I would suggest going to Barcelona. It will have slightly longer days and temps that are not too cold.

I love Paris in the winter. The limestone buildings look so beautiful in bleak, blue-gray light. Other cities are beautiful, but they're best seen in the sun.

Go to Bratislava, you can get some cheap Ryainair plane ticket from London or Edinburgh. It's a charming city plus you can take less than 1 hour train ride to neighboring Vienna.

Good idea, you may also visit Cologne by train when you are in Dusseldorf (I know they don't like each other but I guess its worth a visit ) stay for one or two nights and then go further to Amsterdam or Brussel or Paris by train (from Cologne Main Station with Thalys or ICE train). You may also find some cheap tickets from Cologne Airport to Prague, Vienna, Barcelona, or whatever. Germanwings airlines is a lowcost airlines operating from CGN. Ryanair Airports are sometimes far away from civilization and they may be expensive and time consuming to get away from. I know there are sometimes cheap air fares from Leeds/Bratfort to Dusseldorf with Jet2 Airlines.
