Ten per cent, maybe, but no way do 90% of Russians live like that. I have friends who spent a month travelling across the country on the Transsiberian and they were both pleasantly surprised by how nice and hospitable people were and how it wasn't as bad as the media and these pictures would have us believe. Where are you from?
Wow I am used to seeing pictures of Russians at posh nighclubs. The women look beautiful. The men look normal, nothing like these scary pictures. These photos show a totally different side than what I am used to looking at.
I have always heard that Russian men are extremely heavy alcoholics, now I see examples of it. Unlike some, I don't feel sorry for alcoholics, I don't blame poverty or anything else. It is a personal decision and a sign of low moral character. If Russian men are the most likely to be chronic alcoholics we should be judgemental towards them.
I still would like to think the pictures I have seen of more upscale Russians are more common than what you are showing here.
Check out this website. Here are thousands of pictures of young Russian adults who look nothing like the pictures here. Judging from sites like this,I find Russian women generally more attractive than American women.

Those pics demonstrate emotional,intellectual,visual components of average russians.
I understand those pics shouldn't be placed in tour booklet,but I saw this with my own eyes as large as life.

It's amazing you've traveled to every part of Russia and realized that 90% of around 150 million people look like those pictures!
I'm sorry, but you can't say... well the major cities in Russia, aren't really Russian. The wealthy or middle class aren't really Russian either. It's only the drug addicts and gang wannabes who are Russian.

Prepster: are you posting your own pictures? Did you, in person took those pictures with your camera?
I have been in Russia many times, in big cities, and small villages; I saw some poor places, but those pictures do not represent 90% of Russia.
