It is a small medium city, with 113,000 inhabitants for the city proper and 370,000 for the metropolitan area.
Not the most existing or attractive of France

Orleans cathedral is impressive. Not far along the Loire are many beautiful places to visit: Blois, Amboise, Tours. Also, many castles. In summer the tourists stick to the Loire, but only 3 kilometers inland from the river is peaceful countryside. Paris is less than a 2 hour ride by train from Orleans. So one can spend a day in Paris and be home in the evening.

It's a lot more attractive than many cities of its size in the US.

Of course you can get to emigrate to Orleans--it just takes quite a bit of effort and research.

if you want to move to France, and especially if you want to look for a job there, it is imperative that you learn to speak French.
