Default France - Getting unemployment benfits if working in UK

I have been employed in France and paying normal contributions into the system for the past 7 years so am therefore entltled to unemployment benefit. My contract has recently ended so I will be signing on shortly. However I may have to find contract work in the UK for eg 6 months or so. How would this effect my unemployment benefit in France? Would I still be entitled to dole payments in France or would the fact that i hve been commuting to work in the UK for 6 months nullify my right to benefits in France in the future and effectively deem my 7 years service here useless?

Any guidance or pointers would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks
