Mediocre healthcare, relatively large divides between rich and poor, high unemployment rate, wages not as high as rest of North West Europe, very crowded, very expensive universities compared to virtually free universities in rest of Northern Europe and very expensive public transport.
Also a lot of the houses in the UK are very old, with British towns and cities being full of old semi-detached houses that often date back to pre-WW2.
In countries like Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Scandinavia, etc, those old houses have been bulldozed and modern, new houses have been build in their place, but not in the UK, many people are still living in very old, energy inefficient houses that are expensive to heat.
The rest of North West Europe just seems much more modern and developed compared to the UK.
