The US didn't listen to anyone and demonized the Germans and French.
You're not with us, you're against us.

The Germans, and most of the world outside of the US, can differentiate between politics and people.

You're also looking at the world outside of the US through your US filter.
I haven't seen anything anti-American when I was in Germany. I also was not treated differently when I spoke in English. I don't know where people get these ideas and perceptions from, because that certainly was not my experience. Maybe foreigners should spend less time inside of the biggest cities I've seen more of little places like Lübbenau, Luckau, Königstein, heck even a little Czech hamlet of Hřensko than I've seen more than Berlin

Want to see a place that was never rebuilt? Go to Russia.

Why are people depressing just because they don't run around cheering and laughing all the time? One can be happy in an introverted way.

I have that problem too sometimes. Must be the German in me just because I'm not wearing a smile or jumping up and down doesn't mean I'm having a bad day.

That was definitely not a 'legal' billboard. Probably some left-wing extremists put it up there.
Anyway, if you are from a very dominant country such as the US you have to get used to very polarized reactions. Do you have any idea how often Germans (who are also from a rather dominant country) have to endure anti-German sentiments when they go abroad? If I'd received a penny each time I'd be a... you know the drill.

Don't hate anyone...just a person that is old school and holds an intergenerational grudge...got a problem with that? Sins of the fathers as they say. It is about justice..Germany killed millions of Russians..exterminated 6 million Jews...and one of the bastards raped my mother...I just want to see them suffer a bit...It was not a pleasant childhood - being raised by victims of GERMANY....I just don't forgive the horrors this culture cause..YOU can be forgiving and kind...I hope they disappear off the face of the earth...
