Hey, don't start that sort of generalizing just because one guy starts running his mouth. I have been fascinated with the UK in general and England specifically for as long as I can remember, and actually know quite a bit about the countries of the UK. (Did you notice my name? It should ring a bell.)

Lots of Americans are VERY interested in the UK - hence the heavy tourist trade from Americans. If we weren't interested in YOUR country, we wouldn't spend OUR dollars to come see it!

Then how do you explain all the China scholars, Russia & Eastern Europe specialists, Asia analysts, Peace Corps workers (all ages, btw), NGO workers striving to improve health or economic development or human rights in developing countries, the highschool and college Geography instructors, the American expats living all over the world, etc. etc.? Sure there are Americans who are poorly educated and have no interest in foreign countries, but they're not representative of the whole population.

Your comment is way off topic, btw.

Most Europeans I know think they are piles of heap. But they like Jeeps though because its a cheap 4x4 that goes off-road pretty well. It needs to be noted however that cars in Europe are ordered differently than they are in the US. What I mean is that European automakers can sell you a car w/o power windows, a/c or even a radio. If you want these options, you would have to pay $$$ for them. There are also a number of engine and transmission choices you can choose from as well.

That's OK, we're sure you didn't mean any "offence" by it.

To be fair, offence is correct in accordance to British English.

I think that he meant both "offence" AND "offense" by his snarky comment about Americans.

Apparently US auto makers don't think that Americans are too "lazy" to drive a car with a manual transmission. Heck, the cars below don't even come with OPTIONAL automatic transmission. Manual only.

Yeah but we Americans are too self-absorbed in our own "countries" glory and therefore the rest of the English-speaking should spell it the same way we do.

Erm... two of these "American" cars are Japanese and one is Italian.

What's more, every one of these cars has an available automatic in a different trim level.

Not the Viper, it has never been available in an automatic and never will nor should it.
