20 million Germans
16 million French
13 million Italians
10 million Spanish and Portuguese
4.5 million English
3 million Polish
3 million Dutch
2 million Scots and Irish
1.4 million Swedish, Finnish and Norwegians
20 million Germans is a little tad too much, take into account that France had more inhabitants than almost all Europe at that time. Too many Dutch too.
1600..that was two generations after the plague, there were probably much less people

France had 1/4 of Europe's population before the plague. If there wouldn't have been a demographic collapse, France would have 300 million inhabitants today. Think about that misery...
Julia do the maths, if we all go back just 20 generations every one of us has 2 MILLION DIRECT ancestors, now I don't know exactly what the population of Europe was 20 generations ago but I can guarantee that both you and me share some of them! You have a narrow minded, Victorian way of thinking when it comes to this kind of thing.
?? What victorian way.. This is the historic truth.. At least in my country.
My greatgrandparents all married people from the same village.. No more of 10 kms of distance
I find grouping all Italians into one category meaningless as they are probably one of the less homogeneous nations. The "dark" Italian stereotype obviously comes from the southern part of the country, but I've seen so many Italians that don't fit this stereotype at all.
Well I have grouped all Italians in one category. The majority of Italians are dark in comparison to European populations living north of them. Even if everyone is dark-haired and dark-eyed, there are still different phenotypes. Not all dark-haired people look alike.

Have you done the maths? How many DIRECT ancestors do you have over the last 20 generations? Let me help you the answer is over 2 million. Tell me were all 2 million of them from your village?
Italians do have much more of a mixed phenotype range. A good number of the Italian immigrants to North America were from Sicily and the south, and most Hollywood films about the mafia like to use those darker types with a slight Middle Eastern facial feature. You can certainly see those types in the World Cup team http://planotatico.com/wp-content/up...Mundo-2014.jpg
and they represent the darker more exotic look, but not the majority look of the team. There is a range of types, not a singular dark look. This is all without needing to not look southern European.

What's your agenda with this harassment? Still on about your black girlfriend not being considered 100% ethnic English.
