It's not about what they look like to me, it's simply about 'felt geography' Poland is the easternmost country I consider European. Anything beyond that is simply Russia to me.
Talking about Poland... why not one polish city is included in the poll?? Polish women are not the ugliest in Europe...
Yes, it is. In fact, Russians have the same genetic markers as Iranians. Not to mention Afghanistan. India is populated by Indo-Europeans, for that matter.
The reason that not everyone in Turkey looks "Chinese," is because it USED to be part of Europe, the Byzantium you know, but Turks invaded it from Asia and took over the place. That's why it's not considered "European" any longer. I hope this helps.
If you step aside from a map designed personally by you, and look at one of the regular maps, you'll discover that Russia is in Europe, the older Ukrainian part in particular. (Always has been and it has got nothing to do with E.U either.)
As I already said it is what I think (although I know I am not the only one). That is why I called it felt geography.
Oh yes, now one isolated enclave is the same a the whole country That's like saying the a large chunk of the USA is north of Canada, just because Toronto is south of Seattle

Russia is totally European. Geographically almost all Russians live in Europe. Plus its people are precursors of the Western (European) civilization - how can you separate them from it?
