Again: What is it about this interview that you find lacking or incorrect? You haven't given an answer.
This interview promotes a book, that is written by an extremely biased author, and contains cherry-picked info to make SU and socialism look evil.

Fine, call me crazy. But I would hazard that most people would take the word of a person who lived through a situation over an overzealous apologist who wants to re-write history decades later.
Solzhenicin's BS has been disproved many years ago.

How can't you understand that anything negative said about USSR is anti-Soviet propaganda? And since there are so many bad things said about soviets in this interview, it simply can't be true.

It was erroneously called Russia. It shouldn't have been, obviously.

What's her bias? She's a renowned researcher and author. Give one example of cherry-picked info that she presented.

Disproved? News to me. Link?

Don't teach Russians how we should call our country - ok?

She's a journalist, not researcher. And she works for THE anti-Soviet media.

The book contains exclusively bad things. Yet, it claims to be a realistic portrayal of life in "socialist Europe".

You haven't read the book. I also doubt you've read her work Gulag, either. Sometimes history isn't pretty.

I find it ironic that a poster who continually attacks "propagandist" messages from reputable publications such as the Economist then links www.greatstalin.ru to prove a point. :-D

This is not a source, but a website that collects some articles. I linked to a couple more websites. Overall, even in these few articles there are enough info to declare him a fake.

I have read Gulag, which leads me to believe it this would be equally well-researched and compelling. I will read this one, too, eventually.

Everyone chooses a specific topic to write about. Surely you can find a book which describes the wonders of Sovietisation of eastern Europe. Read one, then the other; you then have balance. Since I have not seen such a book, perhaps you would share it with us. I will read it, if such a tome can be found.

As you very well know, there are two sides to every story. A couple of short articles does not discredit the volumes Solzhenitsyn wrote. One wonders about the ulterior motives of the Mssrs Almazov and Pehalov (and so on), too. Who were they funded by? Who do they work for? It could go on for ages. Judging by the breadth and reaction to Solzhenitsyn's work, I would err on the side of his telling it like it was. Apparently the KGB agreed (otherwise why would they have tried to take him out?).

When writing about prisons, especially back then, it is normal if everything is colored black. But portraying life in countries in the exact same way...

Why promote here something that you haven't even seen?

How many books about this subject are you going to read? One?

They show that Gulag Archipelago is a fake.

He was kicked out of the country by the government (that doesn't equal KGB), after all attempts to reason him (including imprisonment) failed - he continued his propaganda.

I wasn't promoting the book, I linked an interview with a well-known writer on the subject of Soviet eastern Europe. Promoting is different than linking.

Each journey starts with a step, ROL. If you have the title of a book which espouses the wonders of the Soviet occupation of eastern Europe, please share it. I will be glad to read it.

How about if I just say I don't believe them because they were funded by so-and-so? Makes a convenient argument, no?

The KGB tried to assassinate him while in a queue at a store: Report Says Solzhenitsyn Target of 1971 KGB Poisoning Attempt
(That's from the Associated Press, another well-known organization whose only mandate is to discredit a country that hasn't been in existence for two decades.)
