Customer service in Scandinavia is a galaxy away from the former Soviet states including the Baltics.

On a whole I'd agree, but is what abysmally annoying about the Finnish customer service in stores is that as soon as you enter their store, they instantly ask you if they can help you somehow, and if the store is bigger and has more personnel, each one of them will offer their help to you. This obtrusive behaviour I find horrible and it shouldn't really correspond with the Finnic culture, as it's really alien to the nation imo.

True, but I'm so used to it that it doesn't bother me.

I haven't been to enough Scandinavian or former Soviet states but Sweden's service was extremely friendly, which is really nice.

Europeans are okay as long as you follow these three basic rules 1) Keep them away from bright light, 2) Don't get any water on them, and 3) Never, never ever feed them after midnight.

Otherwise we are quite friendly.

I find the services extremely awful in Budapest, at least when I was there. Like they all hated their job so much.

There were some friendly people there as well though, so I guess it was just bad luck.

On the other hand I find the services in Lisbon and Stockholm to be the friendliest.
