I don't know if is that cruel. I mean, I find it vile, but I don't think many dogs are going to object to being pleasured by horny people.

Seit 2009 gibt es ein Gesetz, welches Sex mit Tieren eindeutig verbietet. Seit 2009 gibts "Bauer sucht Frau". Zufall?

Since 2009 there is a law forbidding sex with animals. Since 2009 there is a tv show "Farmer searching for Farmerswife"
Coincidence?

As to your views about Human Beings, they belong to some sect or religion. Humans are the way they are, not the way you want them to be.The worst attrocities suffered by humans come from people like you. What are you, the Pope?
Are you being freaking SERIOUS?????????

You actually consider sex with animals to be morally acceptable? Understandable? OK in a pinch? DAY-UM!

Scary isn't it. Apparently though, you and I are the dangerous one likely to commit atrocities.... Be sure never to leave any kitties or doggies around him... same with livestock. Because apparently cross species copulation is quite normal and our prudish ways are simply too tiresome for Bestialists.

I really must lead a sheltered life....

Whether there is a law about it or not, it won't prevent people worldwide from engaging in such behavior.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
There is all kinds of animal abuse, if you have the stomach for it, look at the spy videos PETA did posing as employees in slaughterhouses.

The issue of bestiality is taboo as many others but it is thus an interesting topic.
Now there has to be defined if bestiality is considered animal abuse. To me as the animal cannot give consent , it is abuse.

It is a bit troubling to talk about these things because they are simply taboo.
But if you really think about it: Humans are mammals. Animals regularely show attraction to humans (chimpanzees, even dogs, and so on).

So I would not say the act is not "possible" and even "not natural".
But from a *moral* and "human dignity" point of view I would outlaw it.

But then again is this not what our atheist poster was mentioning above ? This is Church behavior is it not ? Setting "moral standards".

In the middle ages in Europe It was considered erotic to see a woman's calves. Now in 2012 women are almost naked on beaches and so on. Also in the 70s sexual liberation as they called it allowed all kind of weird acts to come out. Even pedophilia was sometimes even DEBATED as being normal I remember on some European show in the 70s. (I remember a known pedophile being invited on talk shows).

The thing is...Its all about morality and what is morally "right" in today's age.
Personally I am on the conservative side, but the fact that morality evolves does not escape me.

I think what the thread title indicates is that bestiality is NOT ILlegal, for the reason that the common law does not exist that prohibits it.

There are two different kinds of law codes in the western world, Common and Napoleonic. One of the fundamental differences is that under Common Law, everything is legal unless there is proscribing legislation. Under Napoleonic Law, nothing is legal unless there is permitting legislation.

The Constitution of the USA (and presumably Germany) stipulates that people can do whatever they please, as long as what they do cannot be shown to be a violation of some specific law for which they can be prosecuted. This becomes then a complex net of what is called "settled law", in which courts have ruled and that ruling is held as a precedent until overturned by a higher court.

I guess they did not have goats and dogs in the Mayflower. In Spain is fairly common, there are several breeds of dogs called "lamechochos".
As to bestiality. I know several people married to beasts.

Oh dear.
You can't see a lot of CD guys feeling the same way about their animals?
They don't like women and could have their way with animals.

In the US they currently kill lots of people with guns.
Now that's an iffy place if I ever heard of one.

Bestiality is a paraphilia, and most paraphilias are legal and not considered psychiatric disorders (thanks to American psychiatrists).

The problem is consent, just as the case of paedophilia. I believe it should be illegal if it involves hurting the animal.

As to states banning bestiality, there are states that banned making love while playing chess (I'm not kidding!!!).
