Are there European nations where the "person on the street" is more likely to be pro-Palestinian than pro-Israeli? If so, why?

If a country has a huge amount of Muslim immigrants than it try to be more friendly to Palestinians, e.g. France, UK, Germany, Netherlands.Otherwise Muslim immigrants riots and kill pro-Israel policymakers.

I would say every single country in Europe would be pro-Palestinian. Israel doesn't have
many friends.

Why? Because they watch the news!

Any Pro-Palestianism could be because so many Europeans are "to the Left" and being pro-Palestinian tends to be a left-wing thing.

Where do you get your crazy ideas from?

My impression is that European nations don't feel as strong an affiliation with Israel as the US does so they tend to be more neutral in the Israel-Palestine conflict. Not everything Israel does is automatically considered "good" and not everything Palestine does is considered "bad". For example, when Palestine recently applied to upgrade its status at the UN to non-member observer state - a move which was strongly opposed by Israel and the US - all European nations except the Czech Republic voted either in favour or abstained. International campaigns for the recognition of Palestinian rights are almost always targeted towards the EU* (since the US and Canada are pro-Israel and the rest of the world doesn't have the political standing internationally to make a difference) and with some success.

*Example: Avaaz - Palestine: the world's next nation

In Austria it's the other way round. As it is in many other European countries. We damn Commies in Europe... Totally unpredictable.

In Norway it is the opposite. Everything Palestine does is good - and everything Israel does is bad. The Norwegian socialist government donates annually vast amounts to the Palestines, and the government party SV openly advocates boicotting Israeli merchandise.

Norway has recognized Hamas - which put`s the Norwegian government in a tight spot every once in a while.

This is however the view of the government, and not the people. Most understand there is two sides to a conflict.

irish people ( who think twice about the issue ) are overwhelmingly pro pallestinian but its not like our goverment either does anything or is in a possition to effect change so its merley moral support and thats about as usefull to pallestinians as a bucket of spit

as to why we tend to sympathise with the pallestinians , we have an understanding of what its like to be opressed by a powerfull neighbour

the uk goverment is very pro israel and its goverment possition which matters at the end of the day , the u.s goverment is entirely pro israel on both ides of the political aisle , that the population is less so ( though not much less ) is irrelevant

The problem is that they are not the person on the street. European nations leaders tend to always take a pro-Arab view on nearly everything. Why? Because of where their Oil comes from. They are not going to bite the hand that feeds them. The person on the streets view is different when they pay 2-3 times higher than people in the US and go WTF! The people on the street are getting better in their views when they actual see the atrocities coming out of Syria vs. the propaganda words that come out of Palestinians. They are bombarded with Pro-Palestinian articles but nearly no visual truth of it. And each time one of these articles is released the Israelis nearly always has to respond to it with visual proof.

I'm just waiting on the spin from Hamas in Gaza on why only 16,000 people have registered to vote, yet there are 1.7 million residents in Gaza (and there are no Israelis/Jews living within Gaza).

16,000 register to vote in Gaza | Maan News Agency
