Just about anyone who knows a thing or two about Russia will know that Moscow and St. Petersburg are by far and away the most important Russian cities.
My question is, which Russian city can legitimately be considered the "third city" - in terms of importance to the country as a whole? Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
I wonder if Samara would work for this; after all, Stalin planned to move the Soviet capital there in the event that Moscow fell to the Nazis.
People west of the Appalachians have the same rights as those that live on the East, they also speak the same language, have the same culture etc. true Siberians are a lot different than Russians.
If you're poor in Russia life is much better in the Western half than the Eastern half, i think that's not fair, therefore Siberia should become independent.
Majority of the people who live in Siberia are ethnic Russians. They will never support independence.
I've been to all the cities in this thread except Kazan (which I've heard is pretty cool). My impression was that Yekaterinburg had the most going for it and seemed the most developed. I should qualify that by saying that I was in Novosibirsk in December...so, perhaps it's not fair to judge :-D
I think Novosibirsk. The third most populous, the capital of Siberia.
